This plant is a vining weed with small green leaves and purple flowers...
so i have Two questions:

Is that spelled correctly? That's how the person that gave me the seed spelled it.

Is it safe for tortoises?

Vetch is a palatable pasture forage. I have a horse, and did some research on vetch when I wanted to include it in my pastures. At that time (15 or 20 years ago) I had read that if it gets moldy, it can be toxic. That's my old age memory. So I tried to find it again right now in a google search, and this is all I could come up with:

Do your own search, and read up on what all the "hits" have to say about it.

I would think it would be ok in a tortoise's pasture. In fact I have seen upon occasion, a plant or two volunteering out in my sulcata's pasture. Whether he ate it or not, I don't know.

Thanks for your help! I went ahead and did some research as well and as of now I feel like it's ok to use every once in a while~
