Wow. August 13 2007 I bought this domain. Two days later I registered this account on the forum database. It's insane how much time has passed since then. 17 years. The Internet is so different now. The world is too. We've lost friends and made lots of new ones. We've been through a lot!

I'm so proud of what we have going here. Our community is so unique. It's a great little corner of the internet. People often make me repeat myself when I say we're all about tortoises. Turtles are fine but tortoises are preferred


I love that you all keep coming back to support each other. I'm thankful for all those who continue to support the site. And I'm excited to see what the future holds. I've been having fever dreams about resurrecting the calendar contest... We'll see

Thanks everyone. Each of you make this place what it is. I'm real grateful for this community. Here's to 17 more years.

I wish there was a way to know how many tort lives have been saved/improved through the collective expertise of this group. I've been a member for 7 years, and would not be able to count the happy endings that have been documented.

Thank you Josh for your dedication to this effort, along with all the "regulars" who give their time and knowledge to others. This can be a heartwrenching and exhausting endeavor, yet they do it, day after day. God Bless them.

Thank you Josh for starting and keeping TFO going. I'm just sorry it took me so long to find it. Now I understand why I couldn't find any advice I liked back when I got Sapphire 17 years ago 🤗 you all weren't there and then I eventually found TFO and got hooked line and sinker. I found way more than I was looking for. I found a lot of friends that love the same thing I do from all over the world. Happy Anniversary TFO!!!!!!🥰
