SO in reading some other threads I thought I would plant some red leaf lettuce in willies outside area. I went to the farmers market this morning and got like 10 nice sized plants. Bunched like 4 together for a very impressive head and planted it in the enclosure. Willie had been out with me in the garden for hours tasting all the grass, weeds, occasional missed piece of dog poop he could handle- I put him in the enclosure long enough for me to go inside wash my hands and run some soaking water for his "bath". Really maybe 5 minutes.... Go back out and it is eaten to he ground, I mean to the ground.... He looks at me like what it was in my way... that's inexperience on my behalf I guess.

:D

I used to think that the tales of sulcies and their gluttony had to be overstated. Now, raising one, I can finally concur. These guys would twist their necks and gnaw on themselves if their shells were soft enough! :p

Ha ha! I remember when I got my first Russian (and I was so naive to what kind of pigs they are) I planted cute little petunias all around the pen. I came back a little while later to admire all my hard work, and all the flowers were gone. The little Russian was going from one flower to the next having a little snack!
