Have they Mated?

So I have put my male hermanns tortoise in with my 4 female Hermanns about 2 weeks ago two of them are heavier since I got them last month do you guys think he has mated with her or any other yet I have seen him bite ones legs once then got on her looked at me and walked away also is it possible she is carrying eggs?

Yes it's possible. Are your females adults? How big? I would look for signs of being aggravated. Also look for a loss of appetite/ sniffing dirt/ digging with hind legs and a decline in weight could mean they already laid eggs somewhere.

The females are all around 8 inches my biggest female is 9 an a half inches and my smallest female is 7 inches they are all 15 years old and have laid fertile eggs before I got them from a breeder in England who has had many babies from them before
