Hi all another question can it be too hot outside for a russian tortiose? It's supposed to be around 90 degrees and hi humidity here for the next couple of day with heat index around 110 degrees thanks

Yes it can. They need to be able to escape underground to get out of the heat.

At 90 degrees, your tortoise should be totally fine as long as it has plenty of heavy shade.

High humidity only makes people feel hooter because or seat doesn't evaporate as well in humid air. Our ability to use our evaporative cooling system fades as the humidity rises. Reptile don't have this issue. 90 is 90 regardless of the humidity.

Thanks one one question i am making it out of treated lunber how long if at all will i need to let it sit before i can put my tortoise in it thanks

Do you mean pressure treated lumber?

Where are you and what sort of enclosure will it be?
