I'm Bobbi and am a new member. I've been researching tortoises for a while now and this forum has been invaluable. I am in the process of purchasing all the supplies and will be picking up our first tortoise, an Eastern Hermann, on Monday! I am very excited and I'm sure will have lots of questions after we get the little guy home. Thank you for all the valuable information!

Hermanni is a nice choice. Be sure to read out Hermanni care sheet before you buy any supplies. Pet stores are notorious for selling stuff you don't need. You'll find the care sheet pinned at the top of our Hermann's section.

This is what I have purchased: Exo Terra plantation soil, plume moss and coco husk. I also got him/her two hides and three lamps. The only bulb I've gotten is UV/heat mercury bulb. I am going to get one of the ceramic heat things that doesn't light up for night time. I got a day/night timer and a gauge to measure temperature and humidity. Does this sound okay so far?? Thank you!!!
