Hello from Florida

Hi there! I live in the Florida Keys and am a exotic/zoo veterinary tech. I currantly work for the reptile specialist Dr. Doug Mader who wrote the medical text on reptiles used in all the vet schools. I have one 2 year old sulcata, two persian cats, one yorkie, two bettas, a queen of Bavaria conure, a green cheek conure, and one horse who lives at my friends stable a few hours North of here. My little sulcata (1130grams) is my first tortoise. I feel fortunate to have great help at my finger tips from work but I am also grateful to find a forum to share and learn as well!

Its wonderful to have a person such as yourself here on the forum, and I'm hoping that if we have a question or two about turtles and tortoises that we can't answer, that maybe you would be able to take it to your boss for his input. We refer to Dr. Mader's book frequently. How lucky are you to be able to work for him! Do you see many turtles and tortoises at work?

Hi and welcome, we are in Florida too.
We were just down in your neighborhood last week (Summerland Key) doing some birding and observing Key mud turtles.
Doug Mader is a good guy for sure.
