Hello Tom,

that they need so high night temperature its new to me. The breeder gave me the advice that the need a lower night temperature.
In the Sahel zone the night temperature can drop to a few degrees above zero. This is what I have read everywhere. So I'm now a bit confused.

But that temperature is above ground, ambient. Baby tortoises don't spend the night above ground out in the open.

Right, they hide in caves at night. In the caves it is warmer than outside.
In the terrarium of my Sulcatas it is probably also at night 20 or 21 degrees C, that is, room temperature.
If that isn`t enough to your opinion I have to use a infrarot warmer bulb ?
So far, the little sulcata tortoises are very healthy and vital. No signs of cold or anything similar. They are in my care since two months now.
They grow well and are constantly gaining weight. So they are really good.
