Hi everyone!
Koa came home about 5 weeks ago, and I just wanted to show “her” off! She was 100g exactly when she got home, and is now 124g as of Sunday!
I finished building and monitoring her new enclosure for temps humidity, etc. about a week ago and put her in, and she loves it. It’s about 4x2, and I custom made a top for a glass terrarium so humidity and temps could be controlled better. I think this will last her a year or more depending on how fast she grows! I used a food-grade VOC free stain, acrylic and wood, and the two sides of the top are secured with dowel. Koko is still getting used to it, especially her hide box, since I had to switch the side it was on.
She eats a varied diet of mazuri, grassland pellets, collards, kale (all different varieties) dandelion, plantain, grape leaves, fresh grass, some hay, broccoli leaves, mustard greens, cilantro, rose, dried zoo med flowers, dried mulberry, and I’m sure more I forgot. I grow a lot of these, and also have more seeds (chickweed, nettle, plantain, etc.) germinating and rose of Sharon, hibiscus and mulberry sitting for a season in case pesticides were used in the nursery I bought them from.
I love Koa so much, she’s such a character and very feisty! Here are some pictures of uer
