Hello! New Mommy to a 6-8 yr old Red-Footed Tort. Rescued and shes not in the best shape......

Does anyone ever give their torts minnows to catch? I.E. In their water dish or wading area.

I've thought about doing this for my elongated but never tried.

Some hinge-backs actually go fishing but there do not seem to be a lot of other field sightings of this. Worth a try.

Alfalfa- the only luck I ever had with alfalfa with my torts is to take the blocks and break them into fine shreds to sprinkle over their food as a supplement. In the bigger picture, I am not sure it really adds much to their diet.
