Hey there, remember that salvaged thing we found? Well we're FINALLY making headway on its conversion to Echo's enclosure. We have a base made, inside scrubbed, de-funked, KILLZ sealed and soon to be visqueened. The issue is now trying to figure out how to close in the top to keep humidity up.
I'm frustrated with how long it's taken us to get this far and now we have the top to go, lights to order (both her night heat AND UVB blew in a week...ordering and MVP and CHE now) etc.
I'm worried about building the top, heat & light placement etc :(
Anyone have any advice?
Thanks so much in advance!!!

I am not familiar with your other thread, but here are my thoughts for building a top.

Make a wood frame, maybe have some support beams and staple gun some of that hardwire cloth people on here keep referring to. Essentially this will make a screen type lid. Then you could go about covering the lid the same way we other "screen lid users" do it.
I use some aluminum foil with holes cut out for the lights and all my heat elements (lights and CHE) sit directly on the screen. Another member here uses clear packaging tape and I read their post stating he/she also cuts holes out for the heating elements and has not had issues with the heat and tape. They stated an added benefit to the clear tape being you can see through the top. I can't see through my foil top.

Hopefully others will give some you more ideas.

Good luck!
