Hi All,
We finally finished the DIY closed chamber enclosure, the holidays and weather made this project go on alot longer than anticipated. The humidity is at 99%, ambient temp sitting at 80 ( I have 2 temp/humidity gauges on opposite sides of the enclosure and the CHE is hooked up to a thermostat), its about 98 under the basking light. Can humidity be too high?
Wow looks amazing!! Awesome job! Hats off to your husband😁

Is the substrate still quite fresh? That’s normal if so and a testament to how well made it is! You don’t want 99% 24/7 all over the enclosure, but you’ll probably find it’s lower under the bulbs and you have a nice gradient🐢💚

Would you mind me adding the photos to this thread?

It’s so good having nice closed chamber examples for people to look at, especially on the scale you’ve gone🐢💚

Thank you! I did help, LOL 😆

Yes, we got new substrate on Thursday and put it in on Friday and it had rained so was pretty wet. I'm thinking it'll drop some once it dries out more. Charlie seems to be happy with it!

lol hats off to you too! You’ve both done a great job here!🥰

Yeah it’ll naturally go down once the bulbs start drying it out a bit, bless, glad Charlie likes the new home, very lucky tortoise🐢💚

She's currently napping in her hidey hole! Here's a photo of the exterior. I used several coats of a non toxic garden wood sealant.
Naw bless her! Exhausted after all the excitement I imagine🥰
Aw wonderful thank you! It’s very aesthetically pleasing I must say!🙌
