Hi! I have been away from tortoise forum for awhile, but I'm back with more questions.

For the past few months my tortoise Apollo has been making a weird noise, it is kind of a clicking sound but kind of squeaky...? It occurs randomly but really right after he drinks. He is about 1 year and 2 months, and unfortunately has never been to a vet :(. There are no exotic pet vets near us and he has never had any issues in the past at all. He shows no other signs of illness whatsoever, his eyes are clear and bright, no nose drip, no wheezing, no gasping for air...just a weird sound every now and then.
Temperature are about 100 degrees F in the hot end and about 65-75 in cool end, humidity about 55% average and about 70% after a misting. He is eating well as always, no loss of appetite or lethargy, and he has been growing slowly but steadily. He is about 3.5-4 inches.

Am i just paranoid or should I take him to a vet? Please help!

-Thanks!

It's normal for some tortoises to make a clicking noise. Mine does it when it eats and she is perfectly fine!! I've already told the vet about it that specifically takes care of tortoises and reptiles and she told me it's fine. Nothing really to worry about.

I have one that made these noises for a few months. I have not heard it for a while. She is also fine. Watch for any other symptoms.

I agree some tortoises are noisy, the bnoise can come and go. i/ would just watch the tort for now, if other synptons show, then yes, but for now watch, if you want to be proactive keeping the tort a little warmer won't hurt.
