Hello. I believe have a baby cdt. She was the smallest and came from a place that had tons of hatchlings so I am not sure if that is what she is. I have an outdoor and indoor enclosure for her. I will post a pic of both. I have been looking at a lot of pics and have noticed that Winnie has a more wrinkley shell then others I have seen. She active, eats a ton, and gets calcium soaks every couple of days. I have a mixed substrate of ground walnut shells and coconut husk inside and outside she is just on grass. I only put her out when it is nice and warm. Let me know your thoughts on what she might be and if I should be concerned about her shell wrinkles. Thanks!

Hi winniewinnie, and welcome to the Forum!

Yes, that's a baby desert tortoise. The wrinkles are probably just from being inside the egg. She should smooth out in time. I would get rid of the walnut shells. They are terrible if the baby accidentally ingests them, and black walnut shells are toxic. Get a substrate that you can keep moist. The moisture and humidity will help her shell smooth out. The coco husk is ok, but usually those are pretty large pieces, and babies get around easier if their substrate is smoother.
