Can someone help me? I got a western hermanns hatchling alittle over a week ago and he seemed not very well taken care of where he was so im not sure if this is why its happening. His temps are perfect and the humidity i keep between 40-50%. I just dont know what im doing wrong. Hes eating perfectly fine and he drinks.

Someone was wrong. All tortoises appreciate higher humidity. Hatchlings thrive in higher humidity

His eyes are closed because of the flash they arent closed. I had to turn the flash on for it. I put water in the dirt so it’s not dry. He has the moss stuff inside the pot for humidity that’s what i was told to do they said that having it at 70-80 is making him breath weird..

What are your Temps within the enclosure?

Are you soaking him? If so, for how long?

Which one is that? Temps stay between 90°-100° and yes i soak him for 10-15minutes

Only the tube. That is the best for your tortoise. The others dont give hardly any uvb at all

Is the peeling skin what that organish yellow stuff is? And the other two are doing great. They are eating, pooping, and sleeping. What should there humidity for them? The only thing i was confused about is they have like brownish coloring around the black on their shell and i wasnt sure if it was normal cuz i got them like that.

do you know about easterns too? Or Egyptian tortoises

The peeling skin is around his neck area. His shell looks fine. Easterns have the roughly the same care as westerns. Egyptians are totally different and im not very familiar with them.

Do you know the locale that your westerns are from?
