Help (sore, peeling tail)

Hi,

Im a newbie to owning a tortoise and have tried my best to make sure it is healthy but i noticed its tail doesnt look very good as it pealing and seems sore please could someone advise me how i can prevent this from happening and help get it better

It's hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like there's a sore on the end of the tail - either that or the tip has come off. I would take it to a vet for a professional assessment.

What kind of bedding do you have in there with your tortoise? Does the tortoise live alone?

Some types of wood chips can be toxic, so please be careful. Wood also does not help with humidity as it can mold

Hello, and a very warm welcome to Tortoise Forum.
What type of wood ?
Cypress mulch and orchid bark are good but I wouldn't use anything else.
Coco coir is an excellent substrate.
