For some odd reason my little one named him/her Pan and calls him Panny. She picked him out of ten in a split second so she got to name him. Not sure how old he is but he is active and eats well.

how many inches long is his shell?
emysemys said:Its measured in a straight line from the front of the carapace to the rear. When they are able to pull in all the way, you can place the tortoise up against the wall on a tape measure. But usually babies won't pull in all the way.
Measuring isn't critical at the hatchling stage. What I like to do is put them on a blank piece of paper and trace an outline in pencil on the paper. Then in a couple months do it again on the same tracing.
He meausred 2 1/4 inches and 45.8grams in weight.terracolson said:Very cute.. seems to be very small very young...

I appreciate the web sites and everyone elses responses.Roachman26 said:What a gorgeous baby. Here are some sites that the other members here showed me. These sites answered some questions I didn't even know I had. Your tortoise is as perfect as any I've ever seen, so take a look at the "pyramiding" tab on Ivory tortoise.com to keep it that way.
