After Louie was picked up by his people it left a big whole in my heart. I really had come to live him. He's been gone since Nov. Well my daughter's surprised me with a new baby sulcata. I have named Dixieland Daisy. Dixie for short. They said she was a temperature sexed female. She eats about anything that I have given her and seems to have adjusted well to her new home.

Congrats, that's a nice present. I know it was incubated to be female but that's not a guarantee. So don't be surprised if it turns out male.

What an awesome birthday gift! I asked for a water hose and rake for Mother’s Day to make tortoise keeping easier. Next time I’ll ask for land so I can expand my tortoise family. Our youngest is Tibby, incubated for female. If wrong, we are ready to call him Mr. Tibbs in a few years. “They call me Mr. Tibbs.” We have an older male tortoise named Sweetheart.
