Hi yeah it's Sean, i live in Ireland but study in Cheshire. I have a pair of Hermanns and currently obtaining another pair. My current pair both at breeding age. I was just thinking like egg nesting sites, so on. I have incubated bird eggs but do understand tortoise eggs are different
I don't know much about the Hermann's tortoise, but in a general sense, I know that a female wants a pretty deep area to dig in for nesting. She'll want the dirt to hold its shape in the hole, and be deeper than her back leg is long. Also, without a good nesting site, she may hold onto her eggs and eventually become egg bound. Is it at all possible to set her up outside?
I have provided her with a heated area with a mixture soil and sand approx two feet deep, in her enclosure. She does have access to outside but limited by weather
