For any of you who’s Russians lay multiple clutches a year, how many clutches on average do you get out of a female per season and how long after a clutch do they typically lay the next clutch? I’ve had 3 females lay so far this year with one being about 4 weeks ago. This week she lost 70 grams so I’m assuming she laid again but I can’t find the eggs for the life me. Does a 4 week turn around seem pretty fast or would that be pretty standard? A large enclosure is always enjoyable for watching the animals explore but it makes finding nests an absolute pain. I suspect I may have up to 3 nests in the enclosure I can’t find and it sure does annoy me badly. Anyway do you think she laid a second clutch? Just wanted some opinions before I kept searching In this killer heat. Thanks!IMG_9388.jpeg

Yup sounds like she laid again. The timing is about right. Two of my females lay 3 or 4 clutches just 2 weeks apart. Some of my females lay subsequent clutches after 3 or 4 weeks. The last 2 clutches are often just 1 egg. 70g sounds like 3 or 4 eggs.
Depending on your climate, the missed nests might ground hatch. 😀

We traveled for 5 weeks this May and June, so I just know I missed some nests. With how well they hide their nests and how baked in the ground becomes in June, I've given up on finding nests after the fact... I'm just hoping they hatch naturally.
