My Herp Club had a table at the County Fair this weekend.
Here are some of my friends pictures of her Sulcata, and a rescue Redfoot owned my another friend.

They were selling these babies for $40

There was a little Russian that was trying to bite the Sulcata's legs, so they had to put him in a tank

The weather here is cool at night and very low humidity, so I've been taking Pio in. During the day he goes back out, but soon he'll be inside for the Winter...Poor Pio.

I went to the fair on opening day. Worst idea ever 100 Plus weather super crowded, I saw a snake petting booth, and a tropical bird picture taking booth, but I did not see yours was this LA county fair? or somewhere else?

Did you have fun at the fair Terry. I like the tortoise pictures. I also like the one of Pio trying to drown himself. :p :D It is only in the 70's here today, but I went ahead and put Dale outside anyways so he could get some sun. It's supposed to be cooler all week long. I was hoping it would stay in the 80's for a while because we've had a mild summer here so far and although I love it the tortoises aren't being able to stay out as long. Poor Pio I know how he loves it in his beautiful pond outside.

A few things I didn't like about the Fair....at the farm stand, where they had fresh veggies, home made lemon aid and raw honey..etc. they were giving away tiny baby chicks to adults only. Didn't like that too much, and also they had pig races. Little itty, bitty pigs racing in a ring. Poor things were scared to death. Of course I forgot my camera, because I had to help my friend with her Sulcata's. By the way, she has them since they were little babies, and they are really smooth, and are inside 6 months out of the year because of NY weather. They are Vet checked every six months and are very healthy. She has no dry heat in her home, but steam heat, and uses no air conditioner. Maybe that helped them. She is a clean freak, and her house still smells like a Zoo.
I don't know how that picture of the hibiscus got in that post...sorry.

I am in NY David. That beautiful Calif. weather is just not for me.:p

Well David, I could just imagine me walking in the Fair, trying to pull a big Sulcata along in a wagon, and getting a HOT FLASH in 100 degree weather. :D:D Thank God it was cool and brisk, with low humidity yesterday.

What the sulcata isn't trained to pull his own wagon?? :D

When they gave out the chicks did they at least have information sheets and sample of food for them? Wonder what their point was in giving out the chicks.
