I'm new here and a first time tortoise owner. (desert). Javier is 3 and I'm getting ready to move him outside, so any helpful tips would be appreciated!

Moving an indoor tortoise outside is a pretty big culture shock. I would do it a little at a time. This seems like the wrong time of year to me. You should wait until spring, then put him out in the middle of the day for an hour or so and every week leave him out for longer periods.

Sorry, I should have added that I'm not moving him out until it gets warm again, just starting the planning..
