I take it you are saying your tort walks around your room and has no enclosure, correct? Not the best idea. Torts will try to eat anything and they can't be watched 24/7. An electrical cord would not be nice to a tort biting on it. Also, dust bunnies, etc could cause impactions. Also, they should have a hide to feel safe in. Do you have a basking light set up for him? They have to be able to warm upto 95+ to properly digest their food. Also, do you have a UVB light or does he get time outside?
Of you want your Tort to sleep in it every night. I placed my Tort in her hide a couple of times, and now she goes there without me placing her in there every night
Guess thats what happens when you assume...lol...i would say the same, put your tort in the box a few times. It should do the trick. If it doesn't happen right away, keep trying. Or if your enclosure is large enough. Put another one in.
Dear wellington,
Actually he has an infrared basking lamp and I give him a minimum time of 2 hours outside in the natural sunlight where he could bask properly.
PS: I arranged my room to be a safe enviroment for my tortie.
I am doing this cause I'm saving money
For an XLARGE tortoise enclosure.
It would be WAY larger than anybody would expect it to be.
Wish that my tortie would like it when I get it soon !
