My tortoise Paquito has outgrown his hiding spot that I bought for him at a local pet store. I went back to the store to look at other ones to buy for him, but they still look like they'd be too small and they're pretty expensive. I was wondering what some pretty cheap and efficient things would be to make one out of.[/font]

I don't know what tortoise you have, but I am using a sturdy cardboard box for my RT. I'll make a permanent box for her asap.

Hi! Well you can use about anything :D I you can get a plant pot and turn it on its side...bury it down some into the substrate ....or I have found that a large bunch of silk plants set into a pot of soil and then put into the enclosure works as a great place for them to hide....there are no real limits ...use your imagination and see what you can come up with.....:D

Oh yeah.....love your tortoise name....:D

Small plastic box with lid, like a plastic shoe box works good. Just cut the size hole you need into a side. Works good for keeping humidity levels up in their hide.
