HIGH COLORED Captive Bred Box Turtles

I have these 2 unrelated 100% captive bred 2008 eastern box turtles. Both were produced here by my legal adults of many years.

These 2 were holdbacks out of several high colored babies and it is obvious, due to their incredible colors. I don't know if you can call them hypo or not but I have decided to sell them to help fund a very expensive tortoise project.

The larger more yellow animal is approaching 3" the other is around 2". Both are 100% healthy and flawless.

These are one of a kind.

*I cannot and will not sell these animals to states where they are protected from being kept in captivity. Know your state laws because I will check them myself as well.

Jacqui, I have kept in touch with the few people who also breed Testudo hermanni hermanni in the country and one has decided to sell off his group. I purchased the whole group and needless to say, my bank account is basically empty now but it's totally worth it for me since these tortoises are my main focus.

That's the only reason why I am parting with these boxies.

Your high colored babies are beautiful. I live in Massachusetts, near a marsh and I see Box Turtles all the time in the road. I find myself pulling over every spring to get these guys off the road so that they will not be crushed by passing cars. I have never since any with color as beautiful as your though. What a difference in carapace between CB and WC.

I am also amazed by their growth rate. Can you tell us how you keep them (substrate), what you feed them and how often?

Thank you guys. They come from my personal group who are all stunners as far as color goes, bright yellows, reds and oranges. I feed them a mix I make which is yams (slightly cooked and then mashed), pedigree canned puppy food (not too much), frozen/thawed peas and carrots, and then every week I add in either meat or a fruit. Such as beef liver, chicken parts, strawberry, peach or banana. I put most of it in a food processor and mix it under it forms a very very tick paste. They eat it voraciously as do the adults. I also feed soaked reptomin and slew of live foods. The adults outside also find a lot of their own food items since they reside in a very large natural enclosure. The babies are fed every other day.
