OMG, that palm tree reminds me of the old, when I was a young single digit kid turtle bowls that were sold. Shallow kinda kidney shaped looking dish with that fake plastic palm tree that sat on the basking area. Sold for tiny turtles.
Did someone bring these two to you or you found the pic online or something?

I remember seeing that enclosure and a turtle at the Ft. Lauderdale swap shop so long ago. I felt so bad for them, knowing they get big. I already had my box turtle at the time... however I did get 1 free (end of the day) and gave it to my neighbor who had a slider pond in the yard. They were animal lovers.

My cousin had a red ear slider or some kind of slider and I've been told that they had kept him for a very long time. I thought to myself "wow, they must be taking really good care of the turtle" Until I went to visit them and the turtle was kept in a tiny enclosure, It was just a tiny bit bigger than the giant adult turtle. The turtle kept clawing at the enclosure and trying to climb it and my cousin just told me the turtle was happy to see me. I didn't know much about reptile back then so I didn't really concern over the animals care at that time. My cousins eventually selled the turtle after getting a dog.

I bought Julio at that same swap shop 10 or so years ago. In a 10 gallon aquarium on pine shavings with some lettuce and tomato someone yanked out of a Whopper.
