Still on the search! Now, I have been reading reviews on them too, and it's mixyup of good and bad. I also have to say I bought these cool plastic underwater hides from them a few years ago, and was 100% satisfied!
BUT... If I'm going to be buying a live animal over the interwebs, I want the whole dish. :D
Any experience with live animals from them? (live lizards, but torts are great too:D )
Thanks for your help!

No personal dealing, but they do have a pretty good rep., plus they are members. What are you looking for, if you don't mind me asking?

I bought chameleons from them: mixed review in that they were bigger than they said, and priced fairly, but they did not disclose the broken horn of a male.

I have never bought a live animal from them. I buy all my supplies from them though and would probably never shop anywhere else for supplies. Great prices and fast shipping.

What are you looking for? I caution against buying from anyone selling tortoises they didn't breed. If you can't talk to the breeder, then you will not know how they were started. With some it is more important than others maybe.

Skink. Backwater had a great selection, but I'm not risking it. LLL sells them :D

Ever checked Faunaclassifieds or kingsnake.com? There are young BTS for sale frequently on both websites. You will be dealing with individual vendors and not website/businesses or whatever, but fauna has an excellent vendor review section where you can check out anybody.

No, I usually avoid Craigslist like sellers
But I've actually never been to Fauna's for sale section! Thank you :D

I love LLL and have done business with them many times over many years. They are a good company and a good business. Having said that, I would not buy any animal over the internet from a broker except in a very unusual case where I had good reason to trust the broker to handle my transaction personally and carefully.

You are looking for a BTS at the wrong time of year. They are born in spring. People sell off their babies ASAP and intend to keep whatever they are not selling, so there won't be much for sale right now. I think you should wait a few months and get one directly from a known and reputable breeder. Make contact now and get your name high on the waiting list. There is no better source than our own @JeffG in AZ. You might also try Doug Dix in Washington at Deer Fern Farms. He might know of some off season ones for sale.

This is a case where being impatient or impulsive will not serve you well. If you will wait a few months, your experience with BTS will be entirely different than if you just buy whatever you can find now. What is most likely to be available now are indonesian imports. I would not go that route. Wait for a spring born CB Northern directly from the breeder. We are talking about an animal that will be with you for 30+ years. A few months of waiting to get the right one will reward you with decades of happiness.
