Ok so I'm a new owner to a baby sulcata tortoise he's about 2" long and if I had to guess I'ld say about a month or two old. I've been offering Zoomed natural grassland tortoise food with his vegis (romaine lettuce, kale, bell peppers, hibiscus, orchid and timothy hay). But it seems like he picks out all the leafy vegis first and when I look later in the afternoon the Zoomed pellets are the only thing untouched. So really I was wondering is it necessary for it to be apart of his diet or could I go all organic/natural food or even if there is a different kind of pellet form food that I can feed him, maybe a trick to get him to eat it or something?

I like to get my tortoises used to the taste of pellets. That way, if there is ever a time when grass, weeds and fresh produce isn't available, I know I have a fall-back food source. Zoo Med is a good brand of tortoise pellets, as is Mazuri Tortoise Diet. I use both, but only once a week.
