How do you ID your Tortoises?

I've heard you can have them microchipped.
Would one glue it on or would it be injected like is
done to a cat or dog?
If a post like this has been done and you know how to find it
can you please post a link to it. Thank you.

I'd love to figure a way to have some ID on mine be it a microchip,
paint mark, tattoo, something that is safe for my Torts
but not easily changed or taken off.

Ideas?

one of the members has a huge sulcata named walking rock and they cemented and dog tag to the front of the shell jus tlook up walking rock

Zamric has indeed expoxied a dog tag to the centre of a scute... It's very important it doesn't go near the growing part of the scute and that it is entirely on one scute. Walking Rock is one big tort though :)

I had Joe chipped a few years ago. It's inserted using a needle and is done right at the top of a leg. The procedure didn't seem to bother Joe at all ... and the one off 'lifetime registration fee' I paid was a bargain given Joe's likely life span :D
