Interesting. I'd thought of a cat/kitten but changed my mind. "What if the cat harms OLI (my beloved tort), GOD forbid," I thought. So I changed my mind: better be safe than sorry.

We had Devin for a while he's a rescue , I keep them separated when Cecil is soaking generally but I let him get a peak that time lol. I would never leave them out alone or unattended tho ! You never know

No problem getting it here , in fact I got mine when a guy dug his all up ! My wife saw them throwing it all away and brought some home. I planted some in a pot and it is doing well !

Hi Barry. We used to have 5 very large prickley pears in our yard. Two of them were 8 feet tall. We had them all removed several years ago not knowing we were gonna wind up with a prickly pear eater here. Dern... Ive been buying some pads at a local market but gonna plant one in a large pot here on the patio.

Not sure how old Shelley is, we found her wandering about outside near the road, think around 2. She's grown significantly since then (September). I love watching her.

Peanut (19 months) in her outside house, (which is a large baby pool, planted, this year) She is enjoying the summer, spends all morning grazing, then a bit of lounging in her water bowl, then a long nap in her shade spot, and wakes up in the evening to repeat the pattern. She is eating like a horse, so i am hopeful, that she will hit her growth spurt yet. She is kind of timid, curious but cautious, has not gotten in the "bull dozer" mood yet.

I have two cats that are rescues (both came to me declawed). They never bother my tort, and one likes to sit next to Peanut when she takes her soak. I think they find her interesting but not a threat, she doesn't move fast enough for them to think she is a toy or eat anything they find appetizing.
