How is he looking?

Afternoon all, (well in the UK)

As a worrier and a newbie to tortoise care, I thought I would post a couple of pics to see of young Sheldon looks okay to the "trained/experienced" eye?

I've read so much about dehydration but am giving him (?) daily baths as suggested as he has not long woken from hibernation.

The substrate is only that damp in the corner where he has just walked through his water dish ;-)

I'm not trained or experienced but just wanted to say that he's super cute! Looks just like my two x

He looks beautiful. There is some pyramiding at the moment so you definitely want to continue daily warm soaks but you might also want to add more humidity in his enclosure. Slightly moist substrate is good. You don't want to "damp" or "dry" but you want some moisture to help shell development. Regardless I think he looks good and active

I changed his substrate the other day and the humidity shot up! It's currently at 85 in the open which I thought was too high and was going to try and lower but do you think I should keep it high for the moment then to try to avoid any further pyramiding?

Daily soaks will continue ;-)

Here is a recent photo of Sheldon. Being new to tort care I want to make sure he seems to be doing okay?

He's been having 30 min daily soaks to try and combat any pyramiding and sprays of his enclosure as coir does dry out.

But how is he looking? Sleeping under his bit of dead wood seems to be his past time at the moment!
