How's my new growth look?

As some of you may remember I took in a tortoise, my first, about 2 months ago that didnt have proper care previously. He's been given proper humidity, protein, UV, diet, heat, etc.... I've been expecting all new growth to be smooth. But seeing as this is my first tort and I'm unfamiliar with what good smooth growth looks like, I need some experienced eyes.

Not a bad looking tort. I can't tell by the pic that there is any new growth. It usually comes in whitish/yellow.

The little spot invetween the scutes on the top of the carapace and the scutes that connect the plastron and carapace. It kinda looks like a line down his side. I've watched as its come in I just am not sure if its smooth growth
