I want to make a humid side in my enclosure which doesn't need to be sprayed too often and will hold humidity. I currently use tortoise life substrate which I will continue to use, but I want to add something else, does this look ok? (see picture below) also, will I do this at the warm or cold side of the enclosure?? Thanks.

Yes, that is the best substrate for holding humidity. Do it on the warm side. Humid and cold tort, makes for a sick tort.
