Our female redfooted gifted us with 7 eggs a few days ago. She has been in an enclosure with two male redfooteds for the past several months, and they have been, shall we say, quite amorous at times. So if these eggs aren't fertile, it's not for a lack of trying on their part. Anyway, I've placed the eggs in my ExoTerra incubator, using trays of dampened vermiculite with a light scattering of moss over the top. I've been keeping the temp right around 86F, but the humidity level stays around 95%, which I've been told is on the high side. I replaced some of the damp vermiculite with dry, which dropped the humidity for a short time, but then it climbed back up to 94-97%. I've read numerous humidity recommendations anywhere between 70 and 100%, with 85-90% seeming to be the most common. I'm just curious as to what percentage range people here have had the most success with, when it comes to hatching redfooted eggs? Thanks!
