so i have a problem with my russian tortoise winnie . The humidity is like 20 when i get home from work. Any idea to raise the humidity in the box. She lives in a 50 gallon rubber bucket. She is 5 years old.

Hi Jamie

A 50 gallon rubber bucket has way to small a floor area for a 5 year old Russian.

Please can you post photos of the enclosure, lighting and tortoise so we can identify the problems?

The android app is having photo problems right now, so if you’re using that you will have to login to the website via your phone’s browser

You should be using a damp substrate, and there should be a humid hide box too.

The only way to keep humidity in is to use a closed chamber, or cover most of the top to keep humidity from escaping. Since your tortoise needs a much larger enclosure ASAP, perhaps you could design one with a closed in top.

Humidity shouldn't be a big concern for a 5 year old russian tortoise, but 20% is awfully low. Something in the range of 40-60% should work better. Regular soaks will help keep your tortoise hydrated with you current low humidity.

All of this and more is thoroughly explained in the links that Joe's Mum posted for you, but please feel free to ask lots of questions.
