Ok so I've been reading up on Indian star torts and in most things I've seen keeping humidity high but keeping substrate fairly dry. Is this possible? If so how hight should humidity be and how do I keep it there while keeping substrate dry?

A humidifier will add humidity to the air. How high? im not sure for indian stars. You can cover the top of your enclosure to keep the humidity in. If you can't cover your enclosure than you can use a fogger. It looks pretty cool too with a layer of fog rolling across the enclosure.

You need a closed chamber and the right substrate. My humidity in my sulcata and leopard enclosures hovers around 80% with a pretty dry substrate. It is nearly impossible to do indoors with an open topped enclosure.

Also I live in a high humidity place does that have an effect on something indoors? The humidity is like 85- 97% I live ryt next to the ocean
A differ would be sweet but will it be affective in an open top???
I'll try to stick around 75- 80 humidity
