I was reading that Russian tortoises need between 60 and 70% of humidity and just wanted to know how to know what percentage it's at? I don't have anything to know what it's at but am thinking of buying one... Thanks

You need a hydrometer. They sell digital ones and gauge style ones. I would recommend a digital one.

Ok thanks. You don't have any idea as to how much a hydrometer would cost would you?

Petco has them on the website, I believe it's a thermometer/ hydrometer though. I thinks it's somewhere between $20-$30.

You can go to Walmart and get one in the home improvement section for $9. It will give temp, humidity, and 24hr highs and lows. More will get you one with a remote probe, so the display can be outside the enclosure.

Any hardware store should have these for around $10-20.

All of the pet store ones that I have seen are worthless junk. If there is an exception, I apologize, but I have yet to see it.

We have the same one :D

I think I have four for my one tortoise. I'm sure you have several as well!
