I recently set up my Hydrofarm thermostat and I'm not sure of the placement of the probe. Dose it need to be directly in the substrate or hanging above the substrate. I currently have it above Substrate next to my Accurite thermometer. There is about a 5 degree difference between my hydro temp and my Accurite temp. Not sure which is more accurate. I set my Hydrofarm to go off at 82. It is currently at 86.5 my Accurite is at 91. I'm not sure if i should lift my lamps or readjust my Hydrofarm temp.

I set my probes along a back wall away from the heat source. The cool side, basically.

I don't have experience with Hydrofarm, but for every other thermostat I use the thermometer to assess the temperature and just adjust the thermostat according to what the thermometer says.

Thanks! I wasn't sure which one to trust. I'm going to adjust my thermostat and move it closer to the cool side.

Gator is eating greens now! He loves collard greens and cactus pads. He still will not eat grass but its a work in progress! He has also started eating the Mazuri if I mix it with a little bit of pumpkin!

Soon the little guy will be eating everything you put in front of him and begging for more.

When you have that moment of panic over how you are going to feed this monster in a few months, remember these two words: "Grass hay".
