Hi Tarkah:

I think your new tortoise is too young to sex yet, and I'm going to defer to those more knowledgeable about the Mediterranean species than I to help you with the type of tortoise that it is, but I just wanted to...

Thanks for the quick replies and warm welcome guys =)

I think you may be right that he may be a little too young to sex.
Here are some more pics of his tail area.

Sex isn't to important right now, I'd love to be able to I.D him properly and give him the perfect setup.
He's about 3-4 inches long from the top of his carapace to the bottom.

I can see if i can get where he came from etc if it helps.

Looking girly. Safe to put a butterfly sticker on her.

It looks to be a "Golden" greek, Testudo graeca terrestris and a male. :)

thanks everyone. I've also found out that this little guy was a W.C from lebanon.

As far as climate goes i've found very little information on goldens and a lot on iberas.
Does anyone know of a good care sheet source? What I am mainly worried about is humidity.

It looks like what I call a Golden Greek type. Unfortunalely there are a great number of Testudo that have become available in the last 10 years that are extremely variable.

You'rs is unique. Good luck on putting a lable on it.

I think it is a female. It is one of the smaller races.

I was told that the different races come from different altitudes in the Med region of the middle east.

It's a neat looking animal. Good luck pairing it.
