I'm getting three new baby turtles :)

They are all 2010 hatchlings. I am getting another Stinkpot, an Eastern Mud turtle, and a Red belly cooter. (I was inspired to get the mud turtle after jackrat posted his thread on the baby mud he found, and the cooter because of the turtle "Licorice" that terracolson posted a week or so ago.)

I'll probably keep the muds in the house, but the cooter will have his own little pond once he is big enough. I have pond liner and preformed ponds just laying around. I found one that already as a hatchling has very little color on his skin and carapace, his pattern is hard to discern at all. So hopefully he will grow up to be big and solid black like Licorice :)

They are all coming from the same breeder, and I will post pics as soon as they arrive!!!

I can show you the mud babies....

I am :) Stinky is about three inches long (the Stinkpot that I already have) and it will be different having such teeny tiny turtles :)

They look like little turds. I am sorry, but that's the truth! Maybe that is why they're called "stinkpots"? :D

HAH! No, they are called Stinkpots because of the musky secretions that they emit when frightened. It is a defense mechanism.

Here is a clearer baby picture

This is my Stinky, but not a very good pic

Such a big head for a little body! Do they grow into their head size?

They are on their way!!! I will have them tomorrow. I am NOT getting the Eastern, however, because she, well, *ahem* sold it out from underneath me in less than 24 hours. So, I am getting a three striped mud instead.

I'll see if I can get stinky's pics uploaded, and pics of the new babies tomorrow.
