Hello everyone,
I'm from Taiwan, and I'm moving to Canada in about 3 months. I'm planning to take my Hermann's tortoise with me. I'm worried that it will die during the flight (It's a small juvenile). Does anyone know if I can move my tortoise with me? I really want to bring my tortoise with me...

You will have to talk to the authorities/customs in Canada to see if they will allow it in.
Then talk to your airline and see that they will let it on and what the requirements will be. It might be safer to ship it next day FedEx if you have someone in Canada that can receive him. Check into all possible ways.

Canada has very strict rules about importing animals, but I think it's ok to bring a pet. Best to be safe and ask an official in Canada. I doubt it can be shipped in.

Take a read here, see if this info helps - http://www.inspection.gc.ca/animals...-and-reptiles/eng/1326658752555/1326658911065

Here’s the second paragraph

Import Restrictions for Turtles and Tortoises
The reason for restrictions on turtles, tortoises and their eggs is that there is the risk of transmitting serious diseases, such as Salmonella.

An import permit is required for turtles and tortoises from all countries. The animals must have been in the owner's personal possession in the country of origin and accompany the owner to Canada.

Please complete an Application for Permit to Import at least 30 days before the date the import and send it to a local CFIA office in the province into which you wish to import the animal(s).

An import permit is required for turtle and tortoise eggs from all countries, but will only be issued to zoos and research laboratories.
