Hey guys was just wondering my 3month old indian star shell underneath her seems to be slightly flexible, it's not soft but if I press it gentle it flexes very slightly, is this normal, she has calcium on her food every morning and has a uv light in her enclosure aswell, any advice would be great . Thanks

I am no expert but I have read on here that the young torts have softer shells. I know the bottom is soft for a while when born due to absorbing the yolk sack. But I'm sure someone will come by and give you a much better answer!

My Greeks shell was soft until he was about 4 months old. The top of his shell was even flexible. It's hardened up now that he's 6 months. Everything I've read says its normal for hatchlings and they will out grow it.

No worries, My Indian star also had a slightly soft shell when he was young but until he reached around 5-6 months of being born his shell grew harder and his shell was healthier than ever.
