I am planning my next indoor enclosure set up. It will be 7' tall 5' long, and 2' deep. This will hold three separate enclosures. My question is this, will a 5x2 enclosure be efficient for two adult three toed box turtles. Or just one?

I would say one. For two I would want at least 16 square feet.

My Christmas Tree Storage bin made by Iris is about 5' x 2', so I have a visual of what you're talking about. I think it would be ok. But no more than two, and that will be stretching it. Box turtles don't 'roam' all that much, so they don't seem to need as big an enclosure as, say, a Russian. It should work. If the turtles are trying to escape all the time, climbing the walls and falling on their backs, you'll know it's not big enough.

When I move to a larger house I may double it up for a total of 4x5. Right now they're in a 4x1 1\2 and they do just fine but my little guy is only about three inches and is determined to spend his life buried but my big guy is quite active and seems a bit bored at times. Although it's a big difference from the 30 gallon 1x2 he grew up in... This is the largest size I can go at the current moment but I will be moving next spring and I am designing the enclosure so that I can use it as a room divider or double sided or add an additional one on the reverse side to increase the overall size. Also, I love the clean look of glass but understand that turtles don't quite grasp the concept. So, I was debating trying to tint the glass has anyone tried this

If they can see through it, a tint won't help. You may have to add a bit of paper around the outside, up from the bottom a few inches.
