Insect eating grape vine

Hi

What natural pesticide would you recommend that I spray a grape bine with? This bine is specifically used for tortoise food.
I was think Dawn detergent and water, mixed and sprayed????
Is this safe?

That's what I had suggested to someone else that had a bug problem. I would just be sure to rinse them off before feeding. The Dawn I would assume to be safe, as most of us know, how it is used for oil soaked birds and such.
