Cute little guy. The water dish is not OK for your little guy. He will not be able to climb out. Either sink it to the sub-trait level or use a terracotta plant saucer instead. He will be much happier.

I agree on the water dish. Using a terra cotta saucer is much better. It's difficult for tortoises to climb in and out. Besides that it looks good. Maybe you could put the fake plant in the middle of the enclosure for an obstacle though? It creates interest.

Yes it is a russian and I take him outside but that is his permanent home

Nice! I had a dish like yours for about 2 days after getting my first tort recently and found him upside down one afternoon. Thanks to feedback from all these great people I switched to a saucer as well and it's much better. Other then that I think it looks great :)

For sure you need to get you a new water bowl . The Orange plate is a plant water over flow plate. You put under a potted plant its like five bucks at Home Depot.
