thanks! That's 30 pounds of cat who thinks he's a dog...He can stand up and reach the counter, and steals food. He's a big lovable buffoon. And he's a perfect tuxedo, and loves to show it off

While I was trying to figure out the best way to prevent this...a 4 month old kitten is a very unruly teenager w/out manners. He forgets I spray him, or beat on him (lol) and put him in the Elliott Circle Bad Kitty Jail for getting in with the box turtles or the biggie...getting at my birds. So while I was trying to stop the turtle thing...I was just standing sorta staring at the kitten IN the tort table, trying to dig a turtle out of the hide...when the kitten screamed and flung himself back and out of the tort table with T.ornata ornata hanging on his front paw, he throws himself backward onto the floor and the dang turtle held on...CRASH...cat and turtle on the floor... cat tries to run but can't get rid of the turtle.hanging onto his foot...HOLY CRAP!!! cat runs... turtle hangs on with me in hot pursuit. It really was relatively traumatic, for all concerned...Then whilst I'm wrestling with the turtle I see red...damn...anybody with box turtles knows they bite hard and don't let go...but somehow the cat got rid of the turtle and took off...I swear...the turtle grinned at me...it was your ornata Y the one with the hole in his carapace. I kinda figured the cat got what was due...he's off bleeding somewhere...all's well that ends ...lol
This is my biggest concern. Or that the cat gets to close to a heat source and burns himself.Cute until the cat knocks down light fixture and the house went down in flames
It is a very cute pic though. But yeah you do need to get him to stop, good luck.
After what the turtle did, I don't expect the cat will go in there again.
I watch a lot of youtube cat videos, and I can just picture Lil' Bit leaping high into the air with the Ornata hanging on for dear life to a toe. Way ta teach a cat, turtle!, Way ta go!!!
Instead of relying on the cat to have learned some sort of lesson, I'd expect you as the adult human responsible for these animals to prevent it from happening again.
I've sat and watched a previous cat around my little Sapphire. It was so cute. Sapphire liked to snuggle into his warm fur and enjoyed it. Meowy's skin would ripple but he didn't attack Sapphire. Dilly is a different story. The key is watching just for the pleasure of it but watch every second.. If it goes south go north but I believe you know that.
