why not upload one on the thread or another part of the forum?

It just happens naturally over time.
The shell wears down and becomes thinner so they appear very light.
It happens with all forms of redfoot as they reach upper age limits.
I'll email you a picture if you like.

No, sold to me some years ago as purportedly a seven year old tortoise from a zoo in upstate NY that had closed, the usually accurate information you can expect to receive from a dealer. But that's the game.
Shell worn particularly in the rear, evidence of a long history of copulatory attention from suitors.
Probably dumped from a breeding program for a younger prospect.
BTW did not mean to imply that your tortoise is not an unusual and beautiful animal that I would be
glad to have in my group despite his age.
