is this plant edible?

It is very difficult to get weeds and stuff for my tortoise here so i am wondering if this plant that i saw recently at my place if its edible for my star. It looks like dandelion to me but i am not very sure coz it is almost 0 in my country. It has the small little yellow flowers and the white bushy thing that i suppose is the seeds? Pls help me identify it so i can pluck it and start planting for my star. Thks.

I'm in Florida. I don't know if these are entirely the same plants, but the long stemmed plants with the flowers on the ends look like thistle. I pull up the whole plant and feed them to my Redfoot herd. The flowers can be purple, yellow, white.

Hi thks for the reply. I managed to pluck out a whole stem of it but the leaves dosen't resemble that of a thistle. I got new photo of the plants. Any idea what plant is it? The flowers are not blossom yet but once it blossom, it is just like the top yellow flowers.

Sorry about the misidentification Jimbojam, but that is exactly what I pull up and feed my tortoises. (I've done so for years.)
When grazing in the yard, the torts also seek out and eat those very same plants.
I use them as part of my varied diet. There is that as well as Purselane growing wild in my yard.

I think your weed is hawksbeard. If so, it's edible.
