NO! Don't use soil, sand, or moss in an enclosure.

Even if it claims to be "organic" you have no real way of telling what is in it. Oleander is a pretty plant that is highly poisonous - is it in the compost in this bag? How about Castor Bean plants or Daffodils? Don't use soil.


The best substrates are Coco Coir ( be certain it is Coir, not the other forms of coconut barks and such), Fir Bark (also known as Orchid Bark), and/or Cypress Mulch.

Soil should never be used. There is no way to know what is in that bag and it could be toxic or dangerous. The contents of that bag are for growing plants, not for animals to live on or in.
