You can't sex them until at least 14 inches, and sometimes not until 16-17. Occasionally a young male will flash, but often they don't.

50 gallons is too small. Time for something larger.

More here, with a care sheet at the bottom:

Ive just got it about 2 weeks ago and it's just now getting hot in Tennessee so I wanna put him in something outside while I cam but the inside larger than tank enclosure I'm still trynna figure out what to do but I'm hoping to be able to wall off my yard and put it out in the country while it's hot I just didn't think it was big enough to be outside yet Im gonna try putting it out longer and longer and in a couple weeks /month once it's summer fully

Babies do best when kept mostly inside in a large closed chamber with warm humid monsoon conditions. The more you keep them outside the slower they grow and the more they pyramid, even in your climate. My general rule of thumb is an hour of access to sunshine per inch of tortoise a few times per week. Once they are about 6 inches, I leave them outside most of each day, weather permitting, and once they reach about 10 inches, I move them outside full time with a heated shelter.

One more thing how large should it be inside obviously like whole room size if you can but for now tank wise I'f 50 is not enough send links to tanks or like big squares with railing on it may also work you know so it's much wider I got this tank for a pretty good deal off FB market for 150$ with all the lamps and stuff so I was trying to use it for now but I'm open to suggestions thank y'all for replying

Best to just bite the bullet and buy or build a 4x8 foot closed chamber out of expanded PVC sheets. This will never rot or mold, and it will last until your tortoise is too big to live indoors.

Bear in mind that baby tortoises don't live 'outside' in the wild. They are prey and they know it. They venture out more when they're bigger. So, as long as his needs are attended to it is not harmful for him to live indoors with the occasional foray outside.

Welcome to you and your little guy! I think you have been given great help and advice, as is usual on this site. Please tend especially to this little one's enclosure size, and the temperatures and humidity levels! All the best.
